RWANDA Rwamatamu Muzozi Lot 12

£13.50 – £25.00

This natural red bourbon from Rwamatamu is a fantastic example of the sweet, juicy balanced and full bodied coffees available from this origin. Last year we bought washed coffee from them but this harvest the natural really stood out to us and we’ve bumped it up into the Stand Out category. It still has sweet citrus and juicy acidity but it also has a creamier mouthfeel with lovely apple crumble sweetness and marshmallow notes. Delicious, satisfying coffee however you brew it and it works well with milk too.

Description

Why this coffee?

Rwamatamu Coffee is a family business founded in 2015, aiming to positively impact the poverty in rural communities in Rwanda through the production and harvesting of coffee. Rwamatamu work together with Omwani Coffee to bring their coffee to the UK, we picked this as our favourite lot from the harvest. It has the classic washed Rwandan flavour profile we know and enjoy but with just a bit more refinement and clarity.

Where has it been grown and farmed?

Rwamatamu’s coffee farm and washing station are located in the Western province of Rwanda, where the landscape consists of picturesque rolling hills flanked around Lake Kivu in Nyamasheke District. This region provides a tropical highland climate with an average temperature of 14 to 24 °C and regular rainfall. This ideal terroir is perfect for growing high quality arabica. Rwamatamu’s coffee also participated and was greatly received in the national cup of excellence competition.

How has the coffee been processed?

This is the natural offering from Rwamatamu this season offering more sweetness in the cup than the washed.

What can you expect from the smell and taste?

Apple Crumble, Buttery, Marshmallow, Brown Sugar

How do we like it?

Any way you like this brews great coffee.

What our customers think...

Great experience buying coffee here. Really helpful and personal experience, even when just buying home quantities.

Very good quality beans, lovely staff and got a little tour of the roastery while I was there. Highly recommend!

Just received this coffee (Guatemala La Nueva Era) through the post and have to say it tastes amazing! Highly recommend.

I tried several roasters but the one that came through streaks ahead of all the others was Coffee Central. The service is as good as if I was their best customer.
